Stand Steady Techtonic Standing Desk Converter

Review Summary

With the multiple mount setup, the Techtonic Electric Standing Desk Converter fills a pretty niche need. There are more reliable ways to get a standing desk setup with up to 3 monitors that will likely be compatible with larger screens, be more stable, and at a comparable price.

Best Use

If you’re trying to turn a fixed countertop into a sit-stand desk, or if you don’t want to lose your desk drawers, a converter may be the only way to go. And if you need three screens, an electric one like this may be your best option.

Ease of Assembly
Customer Experience

Positives Can support up to 3 monitors. Easy movement being electric powered. Keeps a lot of desktop real estate available.
Negatives Difficult assembly. Cannot support larger monitors with 3-monitor setup. Difficult to make minor adjustments work. Not very steady while working.

Bottom Line

If you absolutely need a converter rather than a fully height adjustable desk, and you need to mount up to 3 monitors, there aren't a ton of options out there. But buying that kind of converter will be almost as expensive as buying a standing desk. And a good standing desk will be easier to assemble and be more stable with all that monitor mass.

This is a brief “first look” on the Stand Steady Techtonic Electric Standing Desk Converter. If we are able to get one of these adjustable height desk converters in our lab, we will do further testing to provide you with a more in-depth review. The Techtonic is one of the larger desktop converters that we have seen. You can buy it with either 2 or 3 monitor mount options. And there is a lot of desk space that you can keep while placing it on top of your desk.

Ergonomically, the Stand Steady Techtonic Standing Desk Converter is great to have the monitors be able to move independently of the desk so that they can be at the right height for your eyes wherever you have the keyboard level. This will help reduce strain on your neck that many other converters and ergonomic equipment don’t address.

Some users complain about difficulty of assembly, unsteady movement while working, and even that the mounts allow the screens to move slightly while in use. Others complained that their larger monitors did not fit, especially with the 3-monitor configuration.

For the price, there are other options that may be better depending on your situation. It might be better to get a full standing desk if you already have usable monitor mounts. If you’re looking for an electric monitor arm that can handle larger screens (up to six of them) be sure to check out the iMovR EMMA system.

In general, make sure that this kind of product is exactly what you need before purchasing something at this price.
